What does success mean to you?
Success embeds itself in all aspects of our lives and therefore everyone’s idea of success will differ greatly. Think for a moment about your perfect home, your ideal car, the relationships and family connections in your ideal world, your dream career, the exact amount of money you need to be earning for you to believe your successful. Now how do you plan on getting there? Do you have a plan or is this all a nice dream? What do you think sets the dreamers apart from the truly successful?
There are a few obvious answers here such as, drive, passion, a bit of luck, good networking skills, but there is one very important element these lists seem to leave out, education. Why is education such an important quality of the successful, you may ask? Because education not only gives you industry specific knowledge, but sets the building blocks for you to know how to process information, problem solve effectively, source changing industry standards and be ahead of the industry and brainstorm new ideas.
Why is this important?
You may all have heard the term ‘knowledge is power’ it’s not just a cute statement or something to write on an Instagram post, but it’s the hard truth. The more you know the more powerful you are in your chosen field and in life in general. Think about this for a moment, you have a dream to be an environmental conservationist, but you may not be heading towards that dream at the moment.
What is your current knowledge base? What are you good at? You know how to count money and scan items through a checkout, how is this going to help you give companies advice on how to improve their environmental impact, or how to advice a school on the best practices to recycle, or to make a real impact on your community? It’s not, you can sit there at your desk dreaming all you like but it’s never going to help you achieve true greatness. Googling these answers will only get you so far, you won’t know how to access the most up to date relevant information and you won’t be taken seriously by your peers.
To educate yourself through higher education, gives you this knowledge and it gives you this power. Once you start learning it opens so many other doors of information and knowledge that you never even considered. You’ll start to realise the magnitude of the power and be intoxicated by knowledge and you’ll always want to know more.
What can you do!
Isn’t it obvious by now? Educate yourself, gain that qualification, work hard and be great. Is this you? If not, why not? Do you want to achieve your dreams? Don’t wallow, step out of your comfort zone and achieve your goals, because you know what is needed, it is a recognised qualification!
Now is the time to be successful, enrol now!
