Australia is famous for its unique nature and great weather throughout the year. If you happen to live in Byron Bay or choosing it as your study destination you should know where the best picnic and hiking spots are located. Here is our Top 3 National Parks that are easily reachable from Byron Bay.
Arakwal National Park
This amazing park is located within 14 minute bike ride from our Byron Bay campus.
Birdwatching, whale watching, swimming, fishing, and picnicking can be done in the Park. Vary from season to season the main activities may change: Spring and Winter are the best time of the year for whale watching, during the Summer the Tallow Beach is a perfect spot to refresh yourself and swim in ideal blue water ( no Instagram filter needed :) ).
Broken Head Nature Reserve
4 km south of Byron Bay, off Coast Road, 17 minutes by car from our Byron Bay campus you can easily reach another fantastic site - the Broken Head Nature reserve.
Experience Aboriginal culture, rainforest walks, whale watching, and fishing from pristine beaches while taking the Three Sisters walking track. If you are more into chilling and hanging out with friends there is a vast picnic area to fit all of your fellas :) Also don’t forget to find the Whites Beach which has been named Australia's number one secret destination in Australian Traveller magazine's 100 Incredible Travel Secrets of Australia.
Nightcap National Park
An hour ride may sound too long for a day trip but trust us, Nightcap National Park definitely worth it! Here you have a chance to swim in natural pools and enjoy fantastic waterfalls and rainforests which are a part of Australia World Heritage Area. Minyon Fall lookout is one of the best picnic spots you can imagine, the panoramic view is simply amazing.
